Benefit for benefit, group insurance is usually cheaper than personal insurance.
And, everybody in the group (under age 60) is normally charged the same premium, no matter what
their age is.
We are able to offer 3 types of group
coverage.
1. Employer sanctioned group.
-The employer purchases the insurance as an employee benefit. -Cost determined by group size, not members’ ages.-There are tax advantages to this type of group.
2. Expat
teacher group not paid by an employer
-The teachers of a school form their own group without school support in
order to take advantage of the lower cost of group insurance. -Cost determined by group size, not members’ ages.-There are no tax advantages for this type of group.-Requires one member to be responsible for the group.
3. An
Association type group.
-A group of people who regularly meet together in support of common
interest.-Fixed premium cost for all members, regardless of age. Charged the same
premium as a 5 member group, no matter how large the group.-There are no tax advantages to this type of group.-A group leader needs to be responsible for the group.
Some Points:
-It is possible to form an employer mini-group with only 3 people. -An independent teacher group requires 5 members.-An Association requires 5 members.-Once the base group has been established, family members can be added to
increase the size of the group and qualify it for a lower premium - except in
the case of an Association group. -Thai-based personal health insurance purchased for an employee of a
registered company may be tax deductible even if the employee is the owner of
the company.
